The Voice of Your Brand: A Quick Checklist

Want your brand voice to actually sound like you (and resonate with the people you're trying to reach)?

Start here:

1. Is it rooted in how you actually speak?

Your brand voice should sound like a natural extension of you—not a version of you that’s trying too hard. If you don’t say “synergy” in real life, don’t say it on your website.

2. Does it feel consistent across touchpoints?

From Instagram captions to client emails to your homepage—your tone should carry through. Your reader should never wonder if they’re talking to the same person.

3. Is there clarity in your personality?

Are you warm? Witty? Calm and clear? Bold and unapologetic? Define it. People don’t remember “nice.” They remember vibe.

4. Do you know when to flex?

Brand voice doesn’t mean every sentence has to be quirky or clever. It means you know when to turn it up and when to dial it back. Use your voice with intention—not on autopilot.

5. Can someone recognize your brand without seeing your name?

That’s the ultimate test. If your tone is distinctive enough that people say, "This sounds like you," you’re doing it right.

Not sure if yours is landing?
